10.0 FIRE AND BURGLAR ALARMS

10.1 STANDARD FIRE ZONE

The Fire Zone may reset itself once the problem has cleared. If it does not, simultaneously

press and hold the [

CLEA R] and [ENTER] buttons for two seconds.

10 .2 DELAYE D FIRE ZON E

If you are una ble to can ce l the false ala rm, your system will send an al ert. Call your Central

Monitorin g Station to advise them of the false alarm.

system.

How do I conduct the system test?

1) Call you r Central Moni tor ing Station to advise them that you are te sting your

system.

2) E nte r yo ur [ACCESS CODE].

3) P ress the [8] bu tt on .

The system wi ll test a ll its co nnections and can send a repor t to you r Central

Moni tor ing Station. If the system detects a problem, the Tro uble Disp lay will

show o n the LCD scree n (Refer to section 7.0 on pa ge 14). Call your Installer

for repairs if any Trou bles occur.

Dur ing a fire al arm, the bell/

sire n emits an intermittent

sou nd (

BEEP-BEEP-BEEP) until

sile nced or reset. If the zone

is a Sta ndard Fire Zone, yo ur

system can immediately send

an aler t to your Ce ntral

Mo nitoring Station.

How do I disarm a false a larm?

1) E nte r yo ur [

ACCESS CODE] on the keypad.

2) Call your Central Mo nitoring Station quickly to advise them of the false

alarm.

If the zone is a Delayed Fire

Zone, there is an automa tic

delay before your system

contacts your Central

Mo nitoring Station. Refe r to

Fig ure 10.1 on p age 18 to

prevent unnecessary

repor ting of false alarms.

What do I do if the fire alarm is accidentally triggered?

1) P ress the [

CLEAR] button within 30 seconds of th e alarm.

2) Clear the problem from the area (i.e. clea r the smo ke from around the smoke

detector).

3) If the p roblem remains after 90 seconds, the alarm will sound again. Pre ss

[

CLEAR] ag ain.

The system will delay reporting th e alert fo r another 30 se co nds.
